Five fire engines from Fulwood, Preston, Bamber Bridge and Penwortham were called to a fire involving a van on the M6 motorway just after junction 31 on the southbound carriageway. Firefighters used two jets and tools to extinguish the fire and they were at the scene for just over an hour. No injuries were reported.
