As a GIS specialist with data skills at Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service, you will play a key role in delivering mapping solutions and managing geospatial and addressing data in order to deliver high quality, timely and relevant information to support a wide range of uses including the Service’s response and fire safety activities.
The role, the key point of contact within the Service and for external partners, will manage all aspects of the GIS system. The role is also responsible for data from acquisition to extraction for use in GIS and other systems, undertaking and managing processes to support activities and communication of information and managing the lifecycle of addressing data. The postholder will also be required to analyse data and present information to a variety of technical and non-technical audiences.
It is essential that the postholder have an appropriate degree in a relevant subject or equivalent professional qualification, have experience in managing a GIS such as CADCorp, ArcGIS or QGIS (including spatial data analysis) and have experience with analysis and reporting tools.
