Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service Service will soon be recruiting new on-call firefighters.
On-call firefighters work at fire stations right across Lancashire. If you're looking for an exciting new role that can work around your life, why not apply?
Being an on-call firefighter
On-call firefighting is one of the two shift types available in our county. On-call members of staff tell Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service how many hours each week they can be available. When you're on duty, you'll carry a pager that will notify you if there is an incident. You will then respond by reporting to the fire station straight away for duty.
This shift type is very flexible and allows you to be a full-fledged firefighter around your current commitments. This means that many of our on-call firefighters have another full time job, or look after their children at home.
To be an on-call firefighter, you must either live or work within a short distance of the fire station.
