Welcome to our Annual Service Report for 2024-25

Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service has published its Annual Service Report for 2024-25.

Last year, the Service set out to deliver a series of improvements, innovations, and investments intended to provide the best possible services for the people of Lancashire. The report showcases the ways in which those ambitions have been achieved across the full range of services delivered.

Chief Fire Officer, Jon Charters, said: “Our Annual Service Report captures the scale of our accomplishments during the year, from reducing the number of accidental house fires by more than double the national average to delivering more safety interventions in businesses than ever before.

“When the report was produced, we were awaiting the results of our inspection by His Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire and Rescue Services. The subsequent news that we had been awarded six ‘Outstanding’ and five ‘Good’ ratings across 11 inspection areas, setting the national benchmark for excellence, is further assurance that we are fulfilling our purpose to make Lancashire safer.”

Firefighters responded to 17,000 incidents across Lancashire during the year, including complex, challenging, and protracted emergencies demanding expert operational skills and, in some cases, exceptional dedication and bravery.

The Service also prosecuted a supported living care provider for fire safety breaches, in a case believed to be the first of its kind.

Jon added: “The work of everyone in the Service has contributed to our achievements over the year and I am proud of the contribution they make every day, on the frontline and supporting behind the scenes. There is an unwavering determination to achieve our goals, respond positively to challenges, and make a difference in our communities.”
